Curiosities of the Civil War
Thanks to the Thomas Nelson Book Publishers I get a free book that I am reviewing. The book is titled " Curiosities of the Civil War by Web Garrison. Perhaps you were unaware but this book was written to commerate the 150th anniversery of the Civil War. There are " strange stores, infamous characters and bizarre events" throughout this book. This is not a narrative but a collection of some of the more obscure events and people of this time period. My husband said he would rate it ok because he prefers a story. I found the book interesting and liked the fact you could pick it up at any time and never worry about the last page you finished. So check it out if you have a historical fascination for the Civil War or like learning trivia that you may use the next time you are on a game show. I mean how many of your friends know about the dog that was trained to give military salutes the first sitting president who faced enemy guns, the general that introduced camels to the Southwest and the wild and crazy wives who charged into battle with their husbands.
