Bedtime for Bonzo

Here's a story about MaaMaa putting my " brother" Blake to bed when we have a "sleepover."

Blake is a 7 year old power house of energy. When he visits MaaMaa and Papa they have fun from morning until evening. So when it's time for bed MaaMaa does the following:
Blake takes a long bath and brushes his teeth.
He picks out 4-5 favorite, scrunchy stuffed animals.
A cold glass of milk and a chocolate cookie -yum!
What movie to watch? Star Wars-the latest favorite.
MaaMaa & Papa kiss him goodnight.
Everyone hopes he falls asleep. We are tired.
Mr. Chub and me jump on the bed and snuggle in. We love our Blake and guard him from nightmares . Blake is a blessing from God.

The Covered Bridge

Blake celebrated his 7th birthday at The Covered Bridge Park in Felton, California. This bridge is the tallest covered bridge in the country. Dad and I were trying to figute out how tall and we guessed around 30 feet. Felton people traveled over this bridge from 1892 until the 30's to enter the town. Now it is a historical landmark.

Blake and Barbecues

Did you barbecue this weekend? Blake visited and my family barbecued Turkey hotdogs. Blake hardly chased me at all. I must say when MaaMaa took him to school this morning, I sighed with relief. Little boys are full of the "dickens. " Now I rest in sunny Sparklewood. Purrs, Tankene

Would you rather be quick or strong?

Easter Sunday Blake and his best buds had a great time telling MaaMaa what they would take into the forest to feel safe. Blake said a BB gun because right now he likes shooting BB's at a target. Cousin Mattie said a Lego sword and Kyle & Josh weren't sure. MaaMaa said she'd take a monkey and an elephant. Why? said the curious boys? " MaaMaa sat down ready to tell the tale.

"this image is from a Tibetian Prayer Rug and the story is taken from an Oriental fairy-tale. "

" The monkey would jump on the elephants back. The elephant would charge through the forest and all the other animals would be frightened by the size and strength of the elephant. They would be scared because the monkey could quickly climb up a tree and swing from the branches. The other animals would be so scared they'd try to trip the elephant into falling in a large ash hole. Guess what happened?" said MaaMaa. "The monkey saw the hole, swang from the tree, landed on the elephants back, warned the elephant and saved them both. " and from that time, long ago in a far away land, the elephant was known for its strength and the monkey for his quickness."

My latest tale just for you.

Growing Up Ceremony

MaaMaa was all aflutter this morning , flying around Sparklewood singing with glee. Blake had passed his kindergarten finals and would " grow up" at a special ceremony of singing and dancing today!
Blakes' Mom had a tea party afterwords for the family. Everyone brought gifts but Blake's favorites  were  the balloons for making water balloons. He and " Nona" made them together and Blake and his friend; Gage, snuck out and threw them at Great Grandpa's Subaru. Naughty Blake.
